Grand Theft Auto San Andreas PS2 Cheats

Interesting findings

• For the Country vehicles cheat, I actually found two cheat codes in the wild: "Triangle, Left, Square, R2, Up, L2, Down, L1, X, L1, L1, L1", which I assumed to be the official, and "L1, L1, R1, R1, L2, L1, R2, Down, Left, Up", which you can find in the table of alternatives as well.

• The Country outfit, vehicles and pedestrians cheat could be an undiscovered cheat. I could not find it in any of the online cheat lists for PS2. Note that this cheat is different from the Country vehicles cheat, seeing as that one doesn't spawn you with the country outfit.

  In lots of lists online, the standard Country vehicles cheat claims to give you the outfit, but it does not. This cheat does.

• The Weather: rain/storm cheat seems to be undiscovered as well, as I could not find anything in the lists online. It does look to be similar to the other rain cheat, but it is in fact a distinct cheat.

• The two last cheats in the list have a hash of zero, and no associated function. This most likely means they are unused, but that does not mean there isn't a cheat code that generates zero as its hash value.

• I have processed cheat codes up to 11 inputs long. To brute-force hash all the combinations of 10 inputs took around 85 minutes, for 11 inputs it was around 17 hours. I did not process the codes with length 12, that would take twelve times as long and couldn't possibly give codes shorter than the official ones.

  The amount of hash collisions are as follows:

  • 7 inputs: 4 hash collisions/alternative cheat codes
  • 8 inputs: 21 hash collisions/alternative cheat codes
  • 9 inputs: 137 hash collisions/alternative cheat codes
  • 10 inputs: 1328 hash collisions/alternative cheat codes
  • 11 inputs: 15751 hash collisions/alternative cheat codes
